As a past teacher of WCCUSD, I'm not a fan of the school district, but I don't think it is fair to say the teachers aren't doing their job. Private schools are good because one has to pay big bucks to get that quality education. In the Richmond Area I don't personally think any of them rank well, but of course you have Kensington, Tara Hills, Lupine Hills that are supposed to be really good! But then, look where they are!
Riverside I was told is a pretty good school but i am not sure as I will have to contend with them myself. But now the district is not allowing transfers to schools within the district so you are stuck where you are.
Hello,
My son is in his second year at Crestmont School in Richmond, a private K-5 co-op. Hands-down it is the community that makes this school so great. It is, as far as I know, the only cooperative elementary school in the Bay Area and has been here for 40 years. The community involvement is phenomenal and my whole family has learned from being a part of it. The credentialed teaching staff is skilled, creative, engaged, dedicated, and sensitive to the strengths and needs of each individual child. The specialty programs are enriching and integrated into the day. And, it is very affordable when comparing tuition of comparable education in other private schools nearby. It is an incredibly special place where adults and children are respected, active members of making their own community. Honor all Students.
