I loved the Rosita Smith Preschool on Rialto Ave, close to the Police Station and Fire Station.
The curriculum is excellent, all the teachers must have classes in Child Development. The children are challenged, some can read at the end of Pre-K. The school director is approchable and is dedicated to bring the best in every kids. She loves pro-active parents who work with the school on potty training, child development and curriculum. She will discuss any subject with you and give you advises and recommandations.
They have regular milestones reports for the parents and work closely with the San Bernardino College and First 5. They are also very involved in the community (annual park clean up, donations...).
They were recently given a brand new covered playground thanks to their numerous parks clean up.
I think that if you are just seeking regular daycare and are not involved in your child's school life and development, this school may not be for you.
The down side: The school closes at 5:30. Late arrivals are prohibited or you end up paying a $30 fee + $1 for each minute, so do not arrive at 5:31! Tolerance Zero.
They also have staff meeting 4 times/year when the school closes at noon and it may be difficult for working families to seek alternate daycare options.
Also the school is small and they do not have a kitchen, therefore they cannot cook. I found the menu to lack some diversity, serving mainly Mexican food.
If you can make it prior to 5:30, I think this is an awesome school that you definitely need to check out, especially if your main goal is your child's curriculum.
