Wilson Elementary is a really great school. Because Petaluma has some rural areas they have a few schools that are outside of the "Petaluma School District" so basically the school IS the district. Because of this, Wilson Elementary is very personable and everyone knows everyone! If there is a fundraiser, we know exactly where that money is going. If I have a complaint or problem, I know it is going to be heard and dealt with. Parental involvement is very high and when there is a project that needs to be done, we all pitch in.

Petaluma has great public schools.Three particular have parent involvement.Sonoma Mtn. in particular has great teachers and fun activities for the children.
Safety is also important.Petaluma is a great place to raise children.Sonoma County versus Marin County is not quite materialistic which is important.

I am sorry no one is answering these questions! I am wondering if you found out any info. I am looking to move to Petaluma and would love to hear what parents have found.
