Parent Answers to "How do public and private schools compare in Los Alamitos?"

First, I need to clarify that both my kids went to the public schools in the school district. But I can pass on a couple of second hand experiences. One friend's child started at St. Hedwig and then transferred to Lee Elementary. He had to have remedial instruction to catch him up to grade level in the public school. Second, during a conversation with my child's math teacher at McAuliffe last year, he mentioned that in his 20 years of teaching, he has never seen a transfer student from ANY private school that was near grade level at that public middle school. BTW, this teacher is very respected.
