Public school wasn't an option for us. Our daughter started school last September when she was 4.5 years old. Her school, Laurelcrest, did two evaluations her before they let her start. She is thriving and we couldn't be happier with the class or the school. The public school she would have had to wait a year to attend is approximately 50% English as a second language. If she had been able to start with them last fall the Kindergarten class she would have been in was 23 students. Her at Laurelcrest has only 9 girls.

I had my son enrolled in public for Kindergarten and I liked his teacher. Safety however was not good. 1-a first grader brought a knife to school, 2-they lockdown the school because a man with a gun was on campus. Needless to say, i pulled my son out for first grade and put him in private school. So far so good and they are much more vigilant of whom comes on campus.
