When we first moved here and met the neighbors, our boys weren't in school yet. We were told about a great preschool at Murdock Elementary in La Mesa. It is a co-op, meaning that you get to work with your childs class. So for example, if your in the two day program, your in the class one day then the next day you have your meeting and then you volunteer on campus. Classes are from 9am-noon. The cost per trimester is under $40. Usually under $30. It just depends on if it's a longer trimester. The Teacher, Mrs. Greene, is amazing.
The program is run through Foothill Adult Ed as a parent education class. I recommend this to anyone who has the time to commit. There is a two day class (Tuesday & Thursday) and a three day class (Mon., Wed. & Fri.). Even if you yourself didn't have time to come to class, but maybe a grandmother did. It really is worth looking into.
