Hello;
my son had came from a private school and I had the same dilemma whether to continue private school or public school. I also had my daughter to consider I wanted to give her the same opportunity of having private school. After searching I came to realize that a majority of the private schools for elementary were from k-3. Which then I would have to put them in a pulic school or look for another private school.
Both my kids are in the public schools in Fontana. It has it's pros and cons. Just like any other school. I have come to appreciate the public school my kids attend. We have several activities such as Family Math night, parent workshops, coffee with the Principal. Also as part of the School Site Council (SSC) we are starting a free tutoring for students and hopefully we will have high school students to assist in the tutoring. In the private school (at least the one my son went to) I don't feel that I had any say in what the school decided to do with their funds. To me that is very upsetting since for private school we have to pay for the child to attend. If you decide in the public school I recommend to join the School Site Council, you have a voice and can vote on the decisions on how to spend the school money for your school. I hope this helps, good luck on your search.
