Especially for families located in Harbor Bay/Bay Farm communities, when our oldest daughter was nearing "pre-school age", we were fortunate to have a family member as the principal of Bay Farm School (at that time) and she strongly recommend Garner Preschool. She rated the over-all program there as excellent and stressed that they worked very closely with them to develop a "Pre-K and Jr-K" curriculum that would provide a smooth transition into their public school "K" program. They are 7th and 3rd graders now, but we were so pleased with our decision to enroll both our daughters there!
We went to the parent orientation night last night and I was completely impressed with the teachers, classroom, parental involvement opportunities, the Principal, the extended care... I was weary as Henry Haight gets a 6, but that is mainly because many of the kids come from homes where English is a second language. They have a yahoo group for Henry Haight at groups.yahoo.com/group/haightschoolcmmnty/
Our son is at Rising Star Montessori right now and we are paying top dollar and aren't happy at all. We can't wait to get him into Haight.
Let's definitely start a group for parents with kids starting kindergarten in 2009.
Hi. We are in the Henry Haight School district. I have heard so many conflicting opinions of Haight I'm not as comfortable sending him as I would hope. I would love to find out if there are other parents like me with kids starting Kindergarten in 2009. I was thinking it would be great to have a parent group because I keep hearing that what is really lacking is parent involvement.
