Are there advanced elementary programs in the Savage Area?

stacypearson
My daughter is 4 1/2 and will start kindergarten in fall 2010. She already knows the skills that are on most kindergarten readiness lists – she is even reading chapter books already. I am worried that she will be bored in a standard kindergarten class so I am already looking for other options. Does anyone have any suggestions? We are right on the line between districts 191 and 719.

Hi. I'm not in MN, but is there any way your child might be tested to "skip K" and go into 1st grade? While public school are often rigid about their age cut-off dates, private schools tend to be more flexible. My son attended a private school for gifted kids that was accredited through www.nais.org ~ perhaps that's an option in your area?
