Moving to Mt Vernon (Fleetwood) in a few months and want to choose the best primary school for my son.

malicarso
I am hearing that Pennington is my best bet. The GreatSchools site shows that there are a few good schools in Mt.Vernon, but I am hearing otherwise. I would like for a parent or someone who knows the area well to give me some advice. Thank you.

As a newbie to Mount Vernon and it's schools, initially I was told that Mount Vernon does not have the best schools or reputation, but if you are moving to Fleetwood you probably have some better options. I've heard good things about Traphagen and Lincoln and Holmes are said to be decent. I know someone whose child goes to Lincoln and she seems pleased. Just know that children are assigned to their area schools without much parental choice.
