Private schools are under no obligation to share such information and only sometimes will. They could give you statistics on their average SAT scores and they could tell you what percentage of their students scored a 3 or above on the AP tests but usually they won't go there. Some give their students an annual standardized test and many of them use the 'ERB's as their test but most of them won't share their results on that either.
Caveat Emptor was an old Latin phrase that still means 'let the buyer beware' and that certainly applies to private schools. Having taught at one and put my children in one, there is much that I'd say that's good about private schools but I'd never say that there's any easy way to compare them one to the other.
You can to see where last year's graduates went to college - those lists they're usually happy to give out if they're getting their graduates into 'name' colleges.
Good luck.

Hi. Your question does not have an easy answer. If the students at the schools you're considering take any standardized tests, you can ask the schools for their average scores. Unfortunately, what you may find is that one private school uses a different kind of test than the next private school. If it's a private high school, then you should be able to ask them about their students' SAT/ACT scores, and what percentage go on to attend college, and what kind of colleges they go to, but otherwise, it's difficult to compare.
