We live in a very small district and she is hired directly through the school. There have been many complaints against her since this all started and many more things have come to light.

I want to say your going in the right direction but I think you need to get the newsreporters involved and have the company where this young lady work investigated and to find out if this company has any complaints of any other altercations just like this.

It certainly sounds like your moving in the right direction with the school. And you have other parents who, it sounds like, will back you when you decide to take the next level.

I hope that, soon, your son will gain back his desire to ride the school bus.

Please do keep us posted on your progress.

My son was abused on the bus by children writing pictures of male genitalia and the words I"M gay all over him. He has had learning difficulties and has been in spec ed most of his life until I paid for outside services that helped him attain reading skill. They took away services and put him in reg.ed. He thought these children on the bus were now being his friend because he was in regular classes. When his little sister told him he was so humiliated that he did not want to go back to school. This happened with cameras, a bus driver and an aide on the bus. What is going on ?? Why are we paying all this money to the public schools when they can't teach or keep our children safe..I reported the incident and the principal said he would look into it..No further response!!! I took my son out of that school. I did pay for a school that fit his needs more appropriately. The best decision I ever made!!!

I have been adviced by an attorney to do all the things you listed above. I still have not had a return phone call from the school yet. I have started detailing the events to proceed with the steps that need to be taken. I have had other parents come to me since yesterday's post with similar stories. I told them what my attorney advised me to do and they have said they are going to start the same process. I don't work so taking my children back and forth to school is not a problem, it is the lose of headway that we made last year by him being able to tolerate more social interaction that's is my biggest concern. I have sought counseling for him and I taking him to his pedi. to document his behaviors and hopefully they can give me some more advise as to what I can do to help him. He won't talk to us about the bus situation at all and if you even bring it up he becomes extremely intraverted and goes to his room and shuts off all communication. I feel the school district should be responsible for the medical bills but I really don't see that being the outcome. I can say that my husband is very good friends with the school board president and another member so hopefully that will help out in our situation. I am just still at a lose for words, I literally tear up when I look at my son, no child "normal" or disabled should have to experience ANYTHING like that...it is just inappropriate.
