it is my daughters 5th b-day she wanted a party so I have sent out at least 40 invitations and have only had 5 responses. I am worried that she will be sad when nobody basically shows up. her 2 best friends are not going because of other obligations. yet I have not heard from even 1/2 the people I sent invitaions too. We have no family in area so that only leaves school friends and my husband and are are worried for her. Is it because of us maybe the parents don't like us I don't know what to do and I already put deposit on party place.

Don't worry! Your daughter can have a wonderful birthday even if it ends up just being a couple other kids. And truthfully, she'll probably have more fun with less people there. There will be less of a chance of her being overwhelmed and it will give her the opportunity to get to know other kids better. You and her dad can make it a great day for her no matter who shows up.
But definitely call call the people who haven't RSVP'd, like 2kidds suggested. Try not to let on to your daughter that your worried and maybe even plan another outing for her and her two best friends to make up for their not being there.
Good luck and let us know how things turn out!

aww Is there an RSVP date?? Anyway you could call the parents? I found that a lot of parents with busy schedules tend to forget or respond last minute and some not at all. I hope it works out for you dd
