We moved to Knox from Tennessee 7 weeks ago and haven't gotten my son back in school yet. Is there a truancy issue I have to worry about? We are looking for a house to buy in Lake County, and have been putting his schooling off. Should I put him in school in Knox since we are living here now to avoid any problems with truancy??

Indiana laws don't require children under age 7 to be in school, according to this homeschooling site: www.inhomeeducators.org/laws/

Check with your state law - in my state Kindergarten is Not required. You are not obligated in any way to send your child to Kindergarten and so no truancy issue presents when you don't.
But check with your state law. It will be harder for him though to make the jump into kindergarten when you do send him - any class he joins will have covered material that he's not had. You might want to be sure to work with him on some basic Kindergarten skills so that when he starts, he doesn't feel behind.
