Hi Anon,

I'm not sure if you're talking about a public, private, or charter school, but the technical answer is "no."

While some schools create a "Future Families" group for preschool families to make an impact on their elementary schools, zones are zones and lotteries are lotteries. Anything financial would look like a bribe. While schools are strapped for cash these days, I seriously doubt that any school would take money and allot your child a slot. Worse, you risk offending the school personnel terribly.

Go ahead and ask what the criteria for enrollment are, and what you can do to (if anything) to improve your chances. Sometimes certain grades have more openings--and conversely nothing you can do can create room if the grade is already full.
