My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD in June. We have seen a huge difference in her grades since she has been prescribed ADHD medication. Although she is doing well overall in school (5th grade), I still notice small areas of concern with her reading and math skills. Her school will not test her for Learning disabilities because they say she is doing OK in school. Do we have a right as parents to have her tested for LD's even though the school does not feel she needs to be tested?

Put your request in writing and send it certified return receipt and keep a copy for your records. Here is additional information that would be beneficial:

In addition to the other advice you've already received, which says YES, you do have a right to have your child evaluated, I'd like to invite you to join Greatschools Learning and Attention Difficulties Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11554 and another good group is www.millermom.proboards107.com
