ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME !!! School Bus

MsVolunteer
My daughter is 9 yrs and attends a charter school. In the morning the school bus picks her up but she has to go through the woods and cross a creek! I can't walk with her due to back and feet problems so my 15 yr old walks it through with her but rarely he wakes up sick, leaving her frightened to walk solo (homeless and preditors in woods) so she misses school. In the afternoon she is greeted by me at a closer on route but not assigned spot - with agreement of the principle. I have asked for compassion and understanding from the principle of our situation and requested for the same pick up as the drop off but was denied and threatened to have her dropped off in the spot which would involve her to walk through the woods also how it would be physically hard for me to greet my daughter -parent MUST be present for drop off-. WHO CAN I TALK TO OTHER THAN THE PRINCIPLE? The SAFETY and WEATHER (creek floods and difficult to cross) are the MAIN FACTOR for my 9 YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL? Thank You

There is most often a transportation supervisor who has far more direct authority over the buses than does any principal. Get in touch with that transportation supervisor and explain the situation. Be sure to begin by thanking her for her understanding of your daughter's situation and for her help in arranging the different dropspot for your daughter in the afternoon. Ask her "would it be trouble to have my daughter picked up at that same spot in the morning so she could avoid the unsafe woods in the morning as she does in the afternoon?"

Good luck with this. I hope you'll let us know how it goes.
