Hi mamawbrewer and welcome to GreatSchools Parent Community.
I know here in Southern California, it's in several schools, but only a few kids in each of those schools is affected. The article was in the local papers, but for privacy concerns they declined to name the schools with outbreaks.
As healthy11 said, if you have concerns, you should contact your school and perhaps even your district directly, since it might not be in the elementary school, but if it's already affecting the high school and the middle school, it's only a matter of time.
Hi. You've posted your question on a nationwide forum, and we don't know where you live or what school your child attends. Your best bet will be to call the school directly and ask them.
For general questions, you might like to join Greatschool's elementary school parents group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11527
