school park usage

Anonymous
Are the public (residences who live nearby the school) allowed to access to the park that is located inside of the school premises? If so, what are the access hours?

Hi. You might contact your local school district office and/or a city councilman or alderman to ask for sure, but where I live, the answer would be no, the public isn't allowed to access playground or park areas located inside school areas. There are safety concerns for students (in most schools, even parents coming into the building have to sign in to get passes and wear badges) and they certainly don't want potential child molesters and other people out on the playground mixing with the kids. Even after hours when the students aren't in school, there are concerns about vandalism and people misusing the park (ie, kids might leave cans and bottles around, etc.)
