Hi. You've posted your question on a nationwide forum, and we don't know exactly which middle school or high school you're asking about in Torrance, CA. I would recommend that you contact your child's counselor and ask them.
Where I live, in the case of exceptionally bright middle school students who are beyond the offered coursework in their own school (ie, doing trigonometry or calculus) sometimes they are allowed to take high school courses, and the same thing applies to high school students, who are sometime allowed to take courses at a nearby college, when they've exceeded the capability of teachers in their own school. It's handled on a case-by-case basis.

No need to apologize. A lot of people think they're on a specific school's site. (I wish Greatschools would make it clearer that they don't have a direct connection to individual schools or districts.)
Anyway, for general questions, you might like to join the Middle School Parents Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11528, and/or the High School Parents Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11529
