Thank you healthy11 and MagnetMom for replying my question about my son's broken wrist...I understand every-

thing you are saying, and like I told the school principal Myself over the phone, accidents DO happen, but if she rear-end my car at a red light, its an accident, then again she is responsible for the damages to my car. It's just how I see it.

I understand where the assistant principal may be the person to file most incident reports, but it concerns me that the principal was not aware that a serious accident had taken place. You might want to write a letter (not just call) to the prinicpal, and send a copy of it to the School District Superintendent.
You could say something like, "Dear (Mrs. Principal), I appreciate your having taken the time to talk to me on (date) regarding the broken arm that my son, (name) suffered on (date) when he was run into by another student, (name), in the hallway of (school name.) I was surprised that (Assistant Principal) had not informed you about it earlier. You indicated that you were going to speak to the School District Human Resources Department and get back to me regarding the insurance situation, but I have not heard from you or anyone else since then. As I mentioned in our earlier conversation, I know accidents do happen, but ...."

Hello healthy11: you are so kind. Yes Tks God, my son is ok, too soon to determine whether his wrist is healed, I took him to his follow up appoint. w/his ortho and they x-rayed it, too soon to tell, it was only a week since the accident, he needs to keep the cast on his arm for 3 more wks, hopefully by then, it's all better :o). Now, as far as the principal goes, she had NO idea there was an accident in school, I did however talk to the Assist. Principal about it and she told me that she, herself, filed the incident report, also advicing me I should speak to the principal about my concerns, when I spoke to her (the principal) at first, she was like, we are not responsible or even going to pay you for any bills and/or you missing work and ask me (more like telling me) that my insurance should pay for it, this is when I told her about her 'rear-ending' my car (as an example) to where she should be responsible for the damages to my car (trying to get her to see my point of view of the situation); then she told me she was going to contact their Human Resources office and see what they had to say about all this, she called me back later saying she had to leave a message, no one was there at the time, but I'm going to call her again, because it's been 4 business days and has not called me back. I should just drop it and forget about it huh? In a way im mad because nothing was done,, but at the same time, like you said, im glad my son is alright, I guess I can say, it couldve be worse??? Tks again for replying, it sounds like you are a good person and I appreciate that. :o) Have a great day.

You don't have to thank us; we know how difficult these situations are. Unfortunately, every school has different accident policies and insurance, so there is no way of knowing if your school district will cover your son's deductible medical expenses or any other costs until you approach them. Did the school principal give you a copy of the incident report, or suggest someone at the district level that you can talk to about the situation? The main thing is that your son is feeling better.
