Simply said, a charter school is a public school but to which you must apply for admission. A charter school has its own rules and regulations but it cannot charge you tuition as can a private school.
If your child has the opportunity to go to a charter school, go and visit the school. Some charter schools are very interesting places and have some wonderful programs.
