I'm looking to speak with a parent of child with Autism that would be willing to share their view of the special ed. in Washington Cty, esp. Clear Spring, Smithsburg or Boonsboro. Thanks a lot!

HI "healthy11"
Thanks for your help. I will try the 2 organizations you listed, somehow I had forgotten them! I tried the school district directly and also Autism society website, but without much success. Thanks again for your reply, I really appreciate it! Margaret

Hi. Unfortunately, Greatschools is a nationwide forum, not associated with any particular school or district. The chance of finding another parent who is from a particular city, with a child who has similar needs and is familiar with specific schools, is slim. I have a child with some special needs, and I always recommend that families contact a local support group for whatever kind of disability their child faces, and network through those other parents to find out about the best schools and other resources in a given area. For autism, you might check out www.autismspeaks.org or www.thearc.org
For general questions, you might also like to join Greatschools Autism Parents Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/18940
