Dunlap claims diversity... Honestly though it is NOT a diverse district in the least...

Is it more diverse than average for the area, sure. But really it's something like 80-90% white protestant.... that hardly counts as diversity.

Hi - Wilder-Waite is very good like Ridgeview- either one is great! Both are in Dunlap School District 323 which is the best. Many physicians and engineers etc send their kids to the Dunlap schools. I haven't lived in an apartment here in a long time so there are new ones. There is one that looks nice when I drive by and it is in Dunlap schools.... Prairie Vista Luxury Apartments on 2401 W. Alta Rd. Peoria, IL ...phone contact on their site is 243-1800. I also think that Jim Maloof Realtor co. will have other rentals you could consider.....contact name on their site is a person named Quinn Sutckey at 692-3900-
email: relocation@maloofrealty.com.
website: www.maloofrealty.com.
Jim Maloof was Peoria's mayor years ago and runs a good business.
Another realtor's site that show neighborhoods in Dunlap schools that is a good list is: www.markmonge.com and click on the dunlap off the list.
Peoria area has many people from India so you will be fine. If you ever decide to buy....Sommer Place in Edwards is very diverse and a good place to live.
Wishing you and your child(ren) the best as you make this transition.

Great public school in Peoria with Asian Population

Dunlap School District
My children attend Ridgevew Elementary and there are a few Asians- Indian, Korean, Chinese. Most of the parents are in professional areas of work and are inclusive with all cultures. I live in Edwards in a new home and many neighbors who are Asian too! The school district is very very good. Highly rated... good luck with your relocation. Look at Chadwick or Sommer Place subdivsions to see if a home might match your wish list too. I am not a realtor....just a stay at home Mom who knows how challenging it is to move. :-)

Hi. Have you tried using the "Find a School" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page? You can enter a location and grade level, and see a list of all schools in a given area. If you only want to see public schools, you can narrow your selections. If you then click on names of individual schools, you can read more details about them, including student statistics, like this: www.greatschools.net/cgi-bin/il/other/5876#students
