The rankings are based on test scores alone. They tell you nothing of diversity, character education or a lot of other factors. Test scores alone rarely tell enough information to base a decision for a school on. Most schools with higher test scores are affluent white schools. Decide what is important to you for your child's overall education - visit the differing schools a few times - then decide what is the best fit. I would suggest if your child is doing well where he is that moving him for a couple of points is probably not the best answer.
