I am not from CA, but if Potrero Elementary is a public school, then they should provide special education services for any child who has an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) for SLDs (specific learning disabilities) IDEA is a federal law, and all public schools must follow it.

I invite you to join Greatschools Learning and Attention Difficulties Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11554 to discuss things with other parents of children who have SLDs. (If possible, try not to use all capital letters, though, because it's considered "SHOUTING.") Hope to see you in that group!
