Can anyone share their experience with Pleasanton Special Ed program?

Anonymous
We are moving to Pleasanton and needs to make sure my son's current IEP and service are able to be followed. He is currently going to a regular preschool with aid 15 hours a week plus 10 hours of ABA in home service, and speech service, etc. We are very concern if this will be a easy transition. Does anyone have experience with the special ed in Pleasanton and what is your feedback?

Thanks a bunch!!

Hi,

Pleasanton school district is great and you have a lot of resources to work with. Besides the school district, I suggest you contact SELPA and East Bay Regional Center, where they can direct you to additional services.

There is also a local yahoo group for parents in the Tri Valley area, for parents with children who have ASD, where you might post your question.

Good luck!

Hi. Unfortunately, Greatschools is a nationwide forum, and the chance of finding another family from a particular town, with a child of similar age and with similar needs, is slim. When you mention ABA services, it sounds like your son is on the spectrum, and so I'd recommend contacting a group like www.autismspeaks.org or www.thearc.org, and networking through their local groups to find out about the best schools and other resources in a community.
For general online support, you might also like to join Greatschool's Autism Parents Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/18940
