Is Reavis as bad as the parent reviews say it is?

carrie520
Coolidge has gotten better reviews but Reavis is the closest school to my home. I'm new to this, does my child have to go to Reavis or can we register him at Coolidge since it's in the same district?

Hi. Your post caught my eye, because I used to live in the south suburbs of Chicago...Unfortunately, that was many years ago, and guidelines/boundaries for attendance are ever-changing. Since Greatschools is a nationwide forum, the chance of finding another person from your town with a child of similar age, who knows the answer to your question is slim. I'd suggest contacting the District, and asking them directly.

trenette, I wouldn't worry about comments that people have left about a high school, when your child is just starting kindergarten.
Many times, if a principal or superintendent of a distict changes, or your child ends up with a different teacher than another person, then the kind of perspective you'd have would be vastly different than those of past students. In fact, I know that two students can both have the same teacher, and one feels that teacher is great, while another doesn't. People who usually leave comments on nationwide forums like Greatschools are strongly opinionated, but that doesn't necessarily reflect the feelings of the majority of families at any particular school.
