As far as I know, NOVA does not have public Pre-K. You might be thinking of "Head Start" which is a needs-based program. Here is a link to more info on the program: www.fcps.edu/DIS/OECFS/fecep/index.htm

This is Fairfax County's website for parents of Public School students: www.fcps.edu/parents.htm
Our school does not have a pre-k and we only offer 1/2 day kindergarten. I believe most of Ffx Cnty does offer full day kindergarten though.

You might want to call the schools directly and ask how their programs work.

I'm in SoCal, and some of the PK have an income cap, or they're in schools where most families are low income. Others do charge something for their pre-K.

However, if they have written and received a grant, they might have gotten around charging that way.

Good luck!
