Is there any way I can get a further break down of demographic info.? I have found stats on this & other sites

specifically I am interested in finding out the break down of asians. For ex. south asian vs. north asian. Most helpful would be finding out the percentage population of the school from specific countires. I'm interested in ps. 173, 131, 117, & 178 in Queens. Can any one tell me about these schools or where I can get more detailed info. ? thanks.

i was afraid of that. i think NY also only collects general ethnicity data(at least thats what all the forms i filled out had). the info. on the offical school site also has only general ethic info. but the lang. is a good idea, i may be able to get some more info. from that. thanx healthy11.

Hi. I'm not sure if that type of specific information is gathered when students register, but I were you, I'd start by asking the NY Public School District Office. (I'm not from NY, but in my area, they only ask a general question about ethnicity, and except for new immigrants who don't speak English and need interpreters, I don't think anyone keeps track of what countries people are from.)
