Hi. How old is your child/what grade/what diagnosis? Are you still looking for a new home, or are you trying to find out about special education services in a new area before you move? I always recommend contacting a family support group for whatever condition your child has (ie, www.chadd.org for ADHD, or www.interdys.org for dyslexia, or www.thearc.org for Down's/autism, etc.) and ask those parents what the best schools and other resources are in a particular community.
Does your child currently have an IEP? If so, until the new school can re-evaluate your child, the old IEP is supposed to remain in effect. From a practical point of view, even if your old school's IEP said 30 min. of reading remediation per day, the new school might still give 30 minutes, but they might use a different reading program, so it could be like "starting from scratch" and it really needs to be looked at based on your child's individual needs.
I'd like to recommend that you join Greatschools Learning and Attention Difficulties Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11554, for more advice on the special education process.
