vijayac
Our son is moving to Kindergarten this year.We have moved from a different state, so we do not have the admission registration with public school. So we are looking for a very good private elementary school near 94402 which gives more importance to Maths and Science along with all round personality development curriculum. The private school must have after school day care facility too.If school transport is available , its highly desired.Kindly let me know a private school which matches with my requirement as we need to admit our son by July 13th 2009.You help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I hope you found a great school. If not, try Belmont Oaks Academy in Belmont. My son went there and it is a great school. They focus on academics and social growth. My son graduated and has gone on to a private middle school.

there are many good private schools in your area, one that i know of is seabreeze elementary, its in foster city but i heard it is really good. about the science and math focus, if you want your child to focus on science and math here is my suggestion: send your child to a public school, in second grade he will have to take STAR testing, if he does well he will receive an invitation to go to GATE, which a school specially designed for gifted students, the focus is mainly, math and science.

Hi, There are a lot of Catholic Private schools within 5 miles of each other. The only that has openings right now is St. Timothy's. They also offer a full day Kindergarten from 8am to 2:50pm. All the catholic schools offer before and after school care usually until 6pm. The schools are scheduled to start August 25. The offices are usually open one week before hand. You can try to apply to all the catholic schools and see what happens the cost is usually $5500 per child per year. The Carey school is another private school but its cost is around $11000 per year.
I know several people who put their child in catholic school for kindergarten and move over to public schools when the schools have openings.

I hope this helps

hi vijayac,

I wish I could be of more help. GreatSchools is a nationwide community, and I'm actually located in Southern California. I visit San Jose and San Mateo occasionally, but certainly don't have the ability to be of more help.

Are you working with a real estate agent? Perhaps they know more about the day care and private school options in your area, as well as what's a feasible drive time. In addition, you might actually have to contact some of the private schools directly, because kindergarten in the U.S. is often a more socializing experience, and while there is a math and science curriculum, it's rare to hear about schools talking about focusing on math and science in kindergarten.

Good luck with your move!

Thank you MagnetMom for your quick response. If schools will not open till Sept, can you advise me a good day care center (full time) in 94402, CA. I need this information as I have to leave my kid either in a school or in a day care as I have to go to work. Going through the web link, you provided, lists down all the private schools in 94402 and I can sort that according to Parent's reviews. Thank you very much for that link. But that is not that helpful for me as the reviews do not say anything about Math and Science importance in Kindergarten curriculum. So if possible, please let me know very few specific private schools which give more importance to Math and Science in Kindergarten curriculum itself. I'll really appreciate your quick answer this time too.
