Savannah is a nice place to live. I work in the Savannah school system, so I'm familiar with the schools. Your better neighborhoods will be Wilmington Island or Pooler/Bloomingdale area. Both of those areas have excellent elementary schools (Pre-K-5th) and pretty good middle schools (6-8). The high schools are generally not the best, but there is supposed to be a new high school built in the Pooler area in the next few years as well as a K-8 school that's due to open in 2010. If I were new to the area, I would choose to live there, although the islands are beautiful.
