I thought there were laws preventing such people from working in an environment where children are present. Perhaps it's just our own state's laws, but you might want to check on that. Ask your local law enforcement agencies about it. If he's not supposed to be working in a school, the school should be removing him promptly.

If your state allows this, you might consider moving your child elsewhere. Even though it is a good school, they are putting children at risk and you as the parent need to ensure that your child is safe. So perhaps you need to look around for a different school.

Also, if the school is unwilling to remove the person, and the state has no law, it takes one person to start making noise to get a law changed. More people will join your cause if you step forward. You can think about that as well.

I wish you the absolute best.

I'm confused by your post, and hope you can help me understand...Is the teacher caught with child pornography still working at the school, or you're just concerned because he used to work there? If the teacher no longer is associated with the school, I'd have absolutely no problem sending my child there, in part because I think the administrators would now be "extra-vigilant" and investigate everything, if there was even the slightest hint of a problem.

Sadly, there are "sick" individuals in all walks of life....There have been news stories over the years about perverted sports coaches, scout leaders, religious people, public and private school teachers, doctors, and others. One can never "guarantee" that their children won't cross paths with someone who might live a "secret life," but the person could just as easily be working at your daughter's current school. The vast majority of people are good and care about kids, and wouldn't do anything harmful. I wouldn't recommend that you lock your child inside just to avoid all contact with other people.
