Are you talking about public school? I'm not from New Orleans, but in most cases, the new school will need to see proof of residency, to ensure you're in their attendance district, along with the child's birth certificate and current immunization record. If you can get your child's old school records to take to the new one, that's good, too, but in most cases it's not necessary.
