If you know where you'll be living, you might try using the "Find a School" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page...You can enter a city and grade level, and see a list of schools in the area, as well as a map. You might start by clicking on the name of the school that appears closest to your home, and details like the school phone number should be listed. Call them in the morning and they should be able to verify if they're the one you're zoned for, along with answering questions about what you'll need for registration.

I don't know about other states, but in Texas the Texas Education Agency website provides a map of the state's regions and breaks those down by districts. Hopefully your state has a similar resource on their site.

If you already know the DISTRICT that in which you are located, contact the administration office and request boundary information. They should be able to tell you which school you are associated by your home address.

Whatever school your child attends, you will have to show proof of residency (rental agreement/mortgage/utility stub), proof of vaccinations and information so that transcripts from any previous schools attended can be transferred. There may be additional requirements, but contacting the school prior to arrival should give you the opportunity to learn what additional information you will need.

Hope this helps.
