HI. If you go to the "Find a School" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page, you'll be able to enter a location and grade level, and see a list of all high schools in a given area. Public ones are rated from 1 (low) to 10 (high) based on how their students perform on statewide testing. As far as safety, you might try contacting the local police, as they often have "liasion officers" who keep track of statistics at area schools, and they should be able to give you an idea....
