Hi, my son is 4, has a great imagination and loves school . I'm looking for a nurturing Pre-K with sharp focused teachers to help him hone his curiosity. Any suggestions?

I've ended up with a mixed education plan.

One day a week preschool at Pan Pacific Park Community Center (classroom skills and social interaction), some homeschooling, and a private tutoring program called the Learning connection (learning to read).

I'm going to be driving all over the place every week which is heck on my schedule but just couldn't find anything else that wasn't $1k a month (sigh).

Hi Anon,

Do you have friends at Hancock Park Elementary? It's a highly rated elementary school, and I checked, hoping they'd have Pre-K and solve your problem right there. Sadly, they don't start until kindergarten, but you might want to check with the elementary school parents and see where they send their kids.

Since Hancock Park is a neighborhood jurisdiction, you might want to type in Los Angeles and the zip code while looking for preschools here: www.greatschools.net/preschool/

And you might want to check neighboring elementary schools which often have free pre-K as part of their curriculum.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide.
