Alamo Heights is considered one of the better school districts and is right next to the Ft. Sam area. North East Independent School District borders Ft. Sam and has good schools. Judson Independent School District is known for its sports programs and borders the Ft. Sam area.
Of the three schools, I would rank geographically these districts in the same order when listing them by crime rate.
Alamo Heights is the smallest district of the 3 with a solid sports program and smallest class sizes and diversity. NEISD has a solid sports program and typically large classroom size with a widely diverse population. JISD has an excellent sports program and larger classroom sizes and a somewhat diverse population.
Both NEISD and JISD have a large military population due to Ft. Sam and Randolph AFB nearby...whereas Alamo Heights has a larger retired military and officer military population.
These three are the ones I know the most about having attended or having children attend each one.
I hope this helps.
