There is an excellent program for Asperger at Marina High School in the Huntington Beach Union High School District. That program begins in 9th grade. I realize your child is in 6th grade now, but I think if you would contact the teachers in the Special Ed. Dept at Marina HS, they could advise you as to what programs your child should be in leading up to that class. My granddaughter graduated from that class, went on to Golden West College and graduated as an Esthetician. She passed her State Board license the first time, also. The program helped her self-esteem, gave her friends, confidence and the tools to succeed.

Hi JB2009:

Welcome to Greatschools. If you would, please repost your question in the Autism & Asperger's group here, and I'll try to answer your questions: community.greatschools.net/groups/18940. Also, does your son have an IEP in place? Have you already conducted your transition IEP for middle school?
