Hello. Unfortunately, Greatschools is a nationwide forum, and not everyone has heard of eog. I suspect that the chance of finding another family from the same town with a child of similar age on this forum is slim. Have you taken a look at your state's Board of Education guidelines? They should indicate whether it's mandatory to pass certain tests or NCLB standards in order to promote to the next grade.
If, for some reason your child is struggling with reading, then I certainly hope the school has done a comprehensive evaluation for possible learning disabilities...Repeating any grade, without changing the methods being used to teach, isn't likely to be effective.
