I need to find a school for my daughter who is very smart, has done well in school untill mid way through 8th

My daughter, has been hospitalised several times for depression and suicide attempts. She is a smart pretty girl but does not see that in herself. I am looking for a school which can recognise her needs as well as give her the education level she deserves.

Hi. Unfortunately, we don't know where you're located, so it's difficult to answer your question. Are you seeking a private school? Is homeschooling/cyberschooling an option? Public schools may be inclined to give your daughter an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) under the ED (Emotional Disability) category, but often that means being placed in smaller classrooms with behaviorally challenged students, and I understand that's not the best situation. Have you spoken with your daughter's mental healthcare provider about possible placements? Doctors treat numerous other children with similar issues, and should be able to put you in contact with other parents and support people, who might be in a better position to recommend good schools and other resources.
