What quality schools happily accept children with disabilities?

writer1975
My 7 year old daughter is medically diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, global developmental delay and medically intractable seizures. I moved to Murphy Creek community in South-East Aurora and was told that Murphy Creek Elementary could not provide services for her there. The option is to be sent to Dartmouth Elementary (an inner city school) that is substandard compared to her experience in Cherry School district. I would appreciate any feedback regarding this matter. She has a current IEP and 504 (that includes her CNA and service dog's presence at school)
Thank you
Linda

Sorry but you moved to the wrong area of Denver to help your child. she would do so much better and get so much more help in the Douglas county school district. You do NOT want your daughter at any Denver school, none of them! A friend of mine has triplets that where born at 26 weeks and have a lot of learning issues also and the douglas county school district has programs to help them and they have halped them make great strides. I know the school district does have programs for handicapped children. In fact at my kids school Rock Ridge Elementary school in Castle Rock they have a great program for children just like your daughter and I see them with thier teachers and playing with the other kids out side everyday and they all seem very happy and to be doing very well. One of the families I know and 2 of thier daughters who where also very premature triplets also have Cerebral Palsy and use walkers and are doing great at the school hope that helps.
