Teaching in Baltimore vs DC?

Anonymous
I'm a school librarian, currently working in DC for DCPS, not too happy with the system although our school's not too bad. My son goes to school with me, he's in kindergarten this year, going into 1st. I may have the chance to switch to a job as a school librarian with Baltimore City (not County) Public Schools for 2009/10 and would much rather live in Baltimore than DC, but I hear horror stories from one woman at our school who previously worked in Baltimore (as a reading specialist). You hear horror stories about DC public schools, too, so I do not know how much faith to put in them. I guess it depends on the school, and I do not know yet which schools will have openings for librarians and first graders (my son and I go together, wherever we go). Any general opinions, though, on BCPSS vs DCPS? Anyone else make the switch, either direction, as either an employee or a parent?
