We moved from South Jackson to Madison 2yrs ago specifically for the schools. They are Excellent. They're are alot of nice neighborhoods along Gluckstadt Road that might night show up on alot of searches because they are so new. Madison Crossing Middle is on Greatschools but Crossing Elementary needed the entire bldg so Germantown Middle School (brand new)is where those Crossing kids go now just opened this year. If you can find a house that keeps you in these schools you'll be pretty set until they get out of High School. Check the Madison County School District Site & it will list Neighborhoods zoned to these schools. Be careful only portions of some are zoned.
The Madison School District is rated as a 9 by GreatSchools.net which is very good. I've always heard good things about the school district. We too will be moving to Madison soon but our child will continue to attend St. Andrews Episcopal School which is EXCELLENT but very expensive.
Hi. Have you tried using the "Find a School" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page? You can enter a location and grade level, and see a list of all schools in a given area. Public ones are rated from 1 (low) to 10 (highest) based on how their students performed on the latest statewide testing.
