Just spoke at Northwestern Middle School as part of a parent education night the school hosted. The principal Bruce Fraser has an incredible vision for the kids and parents. The parent community and group of children (all 1200 of them) were incredible to speak to. I am now connected with a group of parents who would be happy to talk with you about their experience.
Our location is zoned for Haynes Bridge Middle and Centennial. My kid is academically strong (in the gifted program) and I've been happy with the schools. All the North Fulton Schools are good, really, ranking at the top in most reviews nationally. Northview has the highest testing scores, but others hold their own. A new state law says a kid can apply to any school regardless of zoning and attend "if there is room" - not sure all schools will have room though. You might ask a preferred school about the new law before you buy a house. Bottom line is public schools in Roswell/Alpharetta are strong.
