Hollywood, FL

Anonymous
I'm almost new in this country, for 2 years we live in Fort Lauderdale and my daughter assist to Croissant Park Elementary (an A+ school)(3rd grade) now we are moving to Hollywood, FL and the true is I'm concern about a new School, my daughter is an excellent student, she had 3 times the honor roll this year and I want an excellent school for her. In the other hand, we want to give her after school education in music (she plays piano and guitar) and some physical activities like karate or dance, but I don't know if Hollywood have good academies for that. My other question is if the charter schools are good in my daughter "resume" or if is much better a public one. And finally I wanna know if somebody can share with me the experience to live in Hollywood, this house is in the south, really near to Hollywood Blvd. and I don't know if is a good place to raise a child or if this place is safe for us. I'm sorry for my english, I'm learning but sometimes is hard. Thanks

It depends where exactly you live since there are different boundaries that correspond to different schools. For the most part, the elementary schools of the area are good. The difficult time comes when they get into middle school. If your daughter is a good student and applies herself to her studies she shouldn't have any problems. Just watch her influences to be sure she doesn't stray from that.
