Why does the state put health first. But not education?

Because of the Oregon School Budget cuts my sons school is losing out on eight teachers next year! Why can't the state put education and health first for our kids?

I agree with 1seremen on this...a person who is not in good health often can't concentrate well on anything else...they may be tired, in pain, worried, etc. Children can't learn as effectively, adults can't do as good a job at work, etc. Health is of primary importance.

I think good health comes before anything else. Yes! education is a basis need, but children's good health is one of the predictors of a good early childhood education.

I hope this helps!
