Middle & High Schools that are good with ADHD?

LTC2010
We are not happy at our current middle school and are planning a move for other reasons already. We want to move somewhere that will be good for a student with sever ADHD. We are already interstested in Allen and have heard wonderful things about their schools. Any one have experience with Curtis, Ford, or Ereckson Middle school and ADHD, or Lowery or Allen High? Also, would be curios about Richardson North Jr. High, Peirce High in RISD, and any of the schools in Frisco besides Clark and Centennial. Thanks for any advice or thoughts.

The number one choice school is The Shelton private school located in Plano nearby. This school specializes in ADHD students. You should arrange an appointment and take a tour. The Allen Schools do not have the staff nor the patience to try to teach ADHD students. Or, you can consider home schooling with a private tutor. Call Creative Tutors located in Allen for a perfect tecaher that specalizes in teaching students one on one with all sorts of learning differences.

Thanks healthy11, hadn't thought about that. Good idea! I will go to the web site right now! I did join that group and will snoop around there. Thanks.

Hi. Unfortunately, Greatschools is a nationwide forum, and the chance of finding another family from a particular town, with children of similar age and with a similar diagnosis is slim. I've got a son with ADHD, and I advise families to contact a local www.chadd.org chapter in the area they plan to move to, and network through those parents to learn about the best schools and other resources in the community.
For general online support, I also invite you to join the Learning and Attention Difficulties Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11554
