This probably sounds like a really silly question, but we live in Singapore and are moving to NC this summer. I have absolutely no idea if we have to pay anything for our girls to go to public school. Are there any yearly fees? Thanks!
Are there any fees for public schools in NC?
Parent Answers to "Are there any fees for public schools in NC?"
No, there are no fees to attend public school here in the Raleigh, NC area. Public school is free (or more accurately, paid for with your taxes) and this includes base schools, magnet schools, charter schools. You'll be asked to contribute (optional), to help a school or classroom at times, to pay for field trips and things like that, but there are no fees associated with attending school.
I am not from NC. However in il there are fees and it varies from district to district. The fees increase as the child gets older. High Schools have higher fees than grammar schools. In our district HS is $500.00 a year.
Kindergarten is $185.00 a year.
If you know the school district you will be living in you could call and ask. I know it would be long distance call for you. You would probable have to call in the middle of the night your time.
Maybe someone from Raleigh, NC will post.
Good Luck
